As many as 45 educators of the Medical Faculty Brawijaya University (FK-UB) participated in a Training and Development of Basic Skills in Instructional Techniques (PEKERTI) at the Institute of Educational Development and Quality Assurance the University of Brawijaya (LP3M-UB). The training, which took place in the 4th floor Training Room of the Joint Service Building Barawijaya University, was conducted over five days, Monday to Friday (March 20-24, 2017).
University of Brawijaya Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Ir. Kusmartono said in his opening statement that PEKERTI training is important to support the teaching abilities of lecturers, enabling them to produce higher-quality graduates that can later compete in the job market.
During PEKERTI training, participants were taught by speakers who have field experience as educational administrators and have been certified by DIKTI and the Ministry of Education and Culture to speak and train. It is expected that after attending PEKERTI training, participants can further understand the teaching and learning process and dynamically manage the process. In addition, it is expected that participants can teach by developing and appreciating various theories and basic principles of instructional techniques as necessary, so that they can teach in higher education in an effective and efficientmanner, with systematic organization, and using the correct principles.
