40 lecturers took part in a Training and Development of Basic Skills in Instructional Techniques (PEKERTI) at the Institute of Educational Development and Quality Assurance (LP3M) University of Brawijaya (UB). The training, which was held at the B building sevent floor Nuswantara Audiotorium FISIP UB, was conducted over five days, Monday to Friday (Juli 17-21, 2017). The participants of this training were lecturers in the UB environment.
UB Rector Prof. Dr. Ir. Mohammad Bisri, MS. expressed in his opening statement that the PEKERTI training is important to support the teaching abilities of lecturers, so that they may produce higher-quality graduates that can later compete in the job market. During the training, participants are taught by speakers with field experience as educational administrators who have been certified by DIKTI and the Ministry of Education and Culture to speak and train. It is expected that after taking part in the entirety of PEKERTI training, participants will further understand the basics of the teaching and learning process and be able to dynamically manage the process. In addition, it is expected that participants can teach by developing and appreciating various theories and basic principles of instructional techniques as necessary, so that they can teach in higher education in an effective and efficient manner, with systematic organization, and using the correct principles.(jkr)
